Best Practices in Health Behaviors reported by Nancy Smith to NYS Health Department

Dec 16 2015

A&O’s Nancy Smith recently completed a national survey for HealtheConnections Population Health Improvement Program to provide the New York State Department of Health with, practices regionally and nationally related to improving the health behaviors of children in school and after school settings and adults in the workplace. Nancy’s report notes that programs for student wellness are primarily driven by government mandates whereas workplace wellness programs reflect employers’ interest in reducing health care related costs. Both influences have yielded an overall improvement in wellness related programs and practices. The findings from Nancy’s report are included in the Tools and Resources page of www.healthecny.org  which is a clearing house for regional health data and best practices.
